Technorati: A How-to Guide - Part 1
Claim Your Blogs
To use Technorati effectively, you need to create a Technorati profile for yourself and then claim your blogs. To claim a blog means to show Technorati that you own the blog, and this gives you access to various statistics about your blogs.
Load your Photo.
With over 112.4 million blogs on Technorati you need to use every available method to stand out from the crowd. A picture that you upload will show up in many places on Technorati:
- A small little image is shown in front of the title for each blog post.
Contained in a list of people who have listed a blog as their favorite.
Contribute a selection about yourself that is interesting.
To make your profile stand out from everyone else's, you can write a selection with some eye-catching information as a short biography. This will show up on your page along with your photo and will also show up on the fan list for other blogs as well.
Favorite Your Favorite Blogs
Gather all of your favorite blogs from Technorati and add them to your favorites. Uploading your picture will make it show up on your Technorati page for your favorite blogs. It will snag the attention of both the blog owner and many others interested in that blog and see where you write. You'll be networked in no time.
Link to Other Blogs in Your Posts
"Blogging 101" is the process of associating with other 'blogs' in your posts. In the Blog Reactions section, you can find the owner of the 'blog' you associated to, thus relating to 'Technorati'. Information from 'Technorati' is utilized by 'WordPress' to depict incoming links in the administrator dashboard. (However, 'WordPress' with version 2.3 makes use of the Google Blog)
